History

Since the opening of the camp store in 1972, it has had numerous owners, but even more interesting are its workers. Back when the Marchalonis’s built and owned the lake, the first generation employee at the camp store was Bernie Marchalonis. After it became Locust Lake State Park, the second generation employee brought Cathy Marchalonis, now Cathy Seibert, to the payroll. The acquisition of the store by me, Jim Seibert, in 2005 brought the 3rd generation of JJ and Adam Seibert, and also Ryan and Janelle Shakely into the mix. So in a way, part of Locust Lake, the camp store, has come full circle. From the Marchalonis family, 40+ years ago, to the Seibert (Marchalonis, Shakely family) presently.

After opening the camp store in 2005 under new ownership, we have made many new additions, from a new look inside to the many new food and camping items. And we still have that famous hand dipped Heisler's ice cream, made locally, no more than 10 miles from Locust Lake.

We also have kind, courteous, and always helpful employees that have been around for many years.

So when you come to Locust Lake State Park, stop in the Camp Store and say Hello! We always enjoy seeing a smiling face.
